# Rank & Review - Bad Example 1

This is a bad example because manager gave high level coaching. In order to improve the ICs, manager needs to provide unit specific, low level coaching. Otherwise ICs wouldn't know exactly what they need to do.

e.g. instead of telling ICs the end result ("you shouldn't forget updating CiC notes"), we should coach them how to reach there ("add a calender reminder in order to not forget updating CiC notes").\
