# ESW Capital Factory Fundamentals

## ESW Capital

1\. [Crossover](https://www.crossover.com/#index) is the way we find and hire the best talent around the world. Both the central factory and individual business units hire people from Crossover.

2\. [WorkSmart](https://www.crossover.com/worksmart#worksmart-productivity-tool) is a tool built by Crossover with two main functions. First, WorkSmart generates insights from work data, which helps individuals and teams improve. Second, WorkSmart logs the number of hours each person works.

3\. The Central Factory (Trilogy) is a large network of business-agnostic team rooms that perform business operations like support, engineering, and SaaS ops for the business units. Trilogy works FOR business units, but it's functions are NOT business-specific. Crossover (the best talent around the world) and The Central Factory (economies of scale) form the core of ESW’s competitive advantage. The Central Factory is responsible for delivering high-quality units which the businesses rely on to deliver customer success.

4\. ‘Team Rooms’ is a simple term for teams. Within Crossover, people are organized into team rooms that represent their team. A team room can have 200 people in it or a team room can have 10 people in it.

5\. Business units are acquisitions that have been integrated into the ESW family of companies. They operate as an independent business except for the operational functions they depend on from the central factory. Business units are responsible for delivering a 70% [EBITA](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/ebita.asp) margin.

6\. CEOs (sometimes referred to as GMs \[general managers]) run the business units.
