Trilogy Operations Cognitive Aptitude Policy

Release v1.06 - SEP / 2019

Cognitive Aptitude Policy

  • Trilogy operations hires only contractors with cognitive abilities within the top 15th percentile of the population. You must obtain a score equal or higher to the one required by the position you are applying to, for your contract to officially start.

  • Existing contractors with scores below the bottom 50th percentile (CCAT < 24) are released

  • Existing contractors with scores above the 50th, but below the 15th percentile, should not plan for a long term career-path with Trilogy (I.e., any promotion requires a top-15th-percentile ranking)

  • Due to the amount of test-policy violations, and fraud, Trilogy reserves the right to re-administer the proctored, on-line xCAT test at any time, and to anyone, for any reason.

FAQs

Q. Why do I need to retake an online test?

We want only the highest-level talent working with us at Trilogy, and so do you! Certain situations may require that you to retake a test in order to confirm your score, including:

  • If you are a new hire,

  • If you are randomly selected, or

  • If someone on your team committed xCAT-related fraud

Q. I took an aptitude test and I’m unhappy with my score. When can I retake it?

You are allowed to take - or re-take - an aptitude test, once within a 6-month period, regardless of which type of test (e.g., proctored, or not) was administered.

Q. Which Cognitive Test will I be taking? CCAT, UCAT, other?

Crossover utilizes several, proven cognitive test formats, all of which share a similar percentile ranking. Therefore, it is at Crossover's sole discretion which specific test they administer at a given time.

Q. What will be the duration of the test?

The duration of the test, and the number of questions, varies between test formats. The details of your specific test will be provided to you by email.

Q. How is the test conducted?

To take the test, you’ll join a Zoom video call, where you'll be asked to share your screen, as well as your audio & video feeds. A multi-channel recording is made of your session, recording the entirety of your test.

Q. What am I allowed to bring to the test?

The only items you are allowed to bring to the test are 1) a pen, and 2) scratch paper. No other items (e.g., calculators, cellphones, ticker applications, etc) are allowed.

Q. When will I receive my score?

You will receive the results of your test by email, within one week.

Q. I would like to get a copy of my CCAT report. Can you provide it?

Your manager can provide a copy of your score, along with a breakdown of how it was calculated.

Q. I’m an existing contractor and my score is below the top 15% percentile. What does this mean for me?

See our Cognitive Aptitude Policy.

Q. I’m part of an import, and my score is below the top 15% percentile. What does this mean for me?

You are considered an existing contractor. See previous bullet.

Q. What is our non-proctored xCAT retake policy?

Partners are allowed to take one aptitude test every six months, regardless of the type of test they were administered (i.e., proctored, or non-proctored).

Q. What is our proctored xCAT retake policy?

A proctored xCAT retake can be given to a partner, only if they meet the above, once-per-six-months criteria. Additionally, the partner must also meet a specific Quality Bar, which requires a proctored test.

Q. If I took both a proctored test, and an un-proctored one, which scores count?

Once you take a proctored test, only your proctored results are considered.

Q. On my proctored test, I received a score below the top 15th-percentile. Since then, I've taken a non-proctored test, and received a great score. Will this invalidate my low-score on the proctored exam?

No. See previous question for more information.

Q. On which days, during the week, can I take the test?

The test can be scheduled between Monday to Friday, throughout most of the day.

Q. I am currently working for Crossover. Why should I take this test?

See our Cognitive Aptitude Policy.

Q: Why do some of us receive the CCAT, and others the UCAT?

Which test you receive is at the sole discretion of Crossover. As of today June 2019, it is primarily the UCAT which is administered during RemoteCamp.

Q. What should I expect during my Cognitive Abilities Test?

A CCAT overview can be seen here. And the UCAT overview can be seen here.

Q. How can I best prepare for the test?
